Black & Green Interview with Rod Coronado

Black and Green Review is a cool site that (as the name indicates) deals with all things vegan, anarchist and feral. They go with the motto "wild existence - passionate resistance", so you know it's all good.

I discovered B&GR through a really interesting interview called "the Resilience of the Wild - talking and Stalking Wolves with rod Coronado". As everything that has to do with the activist legend, the interview definitely worth checking it out, and the site as a whole is another pillar in the ever-growing vegan activist movement.

Earth Crisis - "Destroy the Machines"

Hey hey.

Earth Crisis "Destroy the Machines" is considered by many to be the true vegan straight edge bible. Since its release in 1995 (that's 20 years), it has been inspiring hordes of vegan sxe hardcore kids worldwide, militant vegans, animal rights activists etc. And, well, one thing's for sure: "Destroy the Machines" and xECx will be here long after all your cool friends have broken edge and started eating meat or animal products.

Therefore I think it's elementary to put it up here for your listening pleasure. Enjoy.

Should I remind you that this blog is not intented to be another 'download' blog. Far from it. Downloads are meant to promote the bands and the labels that release the music that I consider important for the vegan straight edge movement.

Update & Seven Generations "To See The End"

Yo People! Just so you know, this blog ain't dead. I'm just leaving it here for people to find another resource on veganism and straight edge, while I am doing some other things. But of course my heart and mind are still dedicated to the fight for total liberation, and I will update and upload stuff whenever I can.

Here is a download for Sevem Generations' "To See The End", one of the most important Vegan SXE albums out there.

Carnivore Christian? - No, Thanks! (an Easter Special post)

I can openly say that I don't have a problem with faith. I believe it is totally normal and that each person is entitled to choose their faith according to what they want. I really don't care about the general atheist consensus in hardcore punk (and especially vegan straight edge) scenes. I believe in freedom of choice, and I know that faith/religion can indeed help some people lead better lives.

What I surely cannot accept is religion closing it eyes to the abuse of animals in such an organized and exploitative way. I just really hate how every religion has so much in common with stupid animal-eating customs and traditions, Easter being the biggest example of it all. How can something that is supposed to have a deep spiritual meaning of love and life, be so closely tied to murder of innocent animals?

My question may sound childish and self-evident, but if that is the case, why do we continue to consume animal meat and byproducts with such gladness? Face it, Christian (or even Buddhist/New Age religion follower): you are perpetuating a culture of death! Your faith is inhumane and filled with cruelty!

So please reconsider your actions and think about going vegan!!

Back on the Map!

When you think that we've gone away and that we aren't active anymore, that's just the right time to let you know that WE ARE here, stronger than ever in the vegan straight edge!! Just doing different things. NO selling out for us. Just fighting for the good cause, in case you forgot!

I am proud to see new animal rights movements here in Greece, and I am psyched to support and help them. Get the word out... veganism is here to STAY!

Sunday, 23 of March will bring the first thoroughly organized animal rights protest in Greece. Sure, there's been protests before (mainly anti-fur), but this seems to be bigger, due to the fact that veganism and AR are actually bigger in Greece now than ever before. Moreover, there's many different AR groups participating, so it won't be based on specific group's cliquey protest. Let's show them what's up!

One of the groups that has recently taken life in our country is the 269life department of Greece. I am not a member or anything, but I have met some members and they seem to be pretty devoted to the cause. I don't know why some people are talking about 269 being fascists or something, I don't get it. I don't want to say anything inaccurate or offensive, so correct me if I am wrong, but for now the 269 thing in Greece is totally unaffiliated with any form of fascism, elitism etc. So don't go condeming the whole movement already!
